Video of Application Task

Page history last edited by Deborah Müller 3 years, 11 months ago

This is an individual task.

Deadline: see Sessions for details

Make a video of application to the company you would like to apply to. You should apply for a traineeship/vocational education position with one of the companies from the presentations. The video should be 2-3 minutes.

Be sure to include in your video:

  • a short introduction of yourself
  • your reasons for choosing the company and the position
  • the reasons the company should choose you (for example, skills, qualities, and experience)
  • reference to future contact

Make sure you:

  • save your video as a single video file using the following formats:
    • .mp4 (best option)

    • .wmv

    • .avi

    • .mov

  • label the file using your last name and VideoApplication, for example:
    •  "ChungVideoApplication"
  • upload your video file (no bigger than 2,000 MB) to LEA using the exercise "Video Application (upload)".

Marking criteria:

  • content points
  • grammar
  • for vocabulary
  • for discourse management
  • for pronunciation

Do not worry if you are unable to rotate your video and it is on its side. You will NOT lose any points for this.

If you have problems:

  • looking for a tool to convert or edit your video, Microsoft offers a free tool, Windows Movie Maker, to do so (please export your video for Android (720) or Apple Ipad - these are the best settings).
  • with the upload time or your internet connection is too slow, upload the file using a computer in the library as this takes only seconds to upload any file.
  • please contact the e-tutor.
